Bongo's Odyssey
Bongo's Odyssey by Libby Harris
Project Idea:
The idea behind my game was to make a first person shooter inspired by fantasy, using a magic wand in the place of a gun to act out the “shooting” mechanic. In support of this fantasy direction, I decided to make a brightly coloured world using low poly assets I sourced from the Unity asset store. There are three interactive & playable scenes in the game; the first uses a dialogue system to describe what the player must do, the second utilises the FPS system and the third does the same, also leading to a conclusion once the player has successfully beat all of their opponents. If the player fails to kill their enemies, they will instead be met with a game over scene which provides the option to go back to the main menu. I wanted to make a game like this because I like the level of interactivity within a FPS game, but I wanted it to suit a slightly calmer, cutesy aesthetic and so I thought a good way of doing this would be removing a degree of realism when it came to portraying acts of violence I.e. removing the gun. Some of my favourite games to play are fantasy based and I often feel drawn to bright colours and simple, clear graphics which is what I've chosen to replicate.
How to Play:
WASD - walk
LEFT MOUSE CLICK - interact and shoot
